The Little Lamp

  • Ravi was a quiet student. Whenever he made a mistake, he felt sad and believed he was not good enough. If someone laughed at him or if he scored less marks, his heart felt heavy, like a lamp about to go out.

One day, during a power cut, Ravi noticed a small oil lamp in his house. Though the wind blew through the windows, the lamp kept burning steadily. Curious, Ravi asked his grandmother,
“Why doesn’t the lamp go out?”

    She smiled and said,
Because it has enough oil inside. When we are strong inside, outside problems cannot easily put us out.”

The next day at school, Ravi made a mistake while answering in class. Some students laughed. For a moment, he felt hurt. Then he remembered the lamp. He took a deep breath and told himself, Mistakes help me learn. He tried again instead of giving up.

Slowly, Ravi stopped fearing failure. He learned to control his emotions, stay calm, and believe in himself. Just like the lamp, he became stronger from inside.

    Moral:

    • Emotional strength comes from believing in yourself, staying calm, and learning from difficulties.
    • Always think positively.
    • All is well.
