Gou Seva
at Sri Jayalakshmi Narasimhan VETRI Campus
The Gou Seva initiative at the Sri Jayalakshmi Narasimhan VETRI Campus is dedicated to the preservation of indigenous cow breeds and the promotion of sustainable organic farming practices.
Under the able guidance of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, this noble program cares for a herd of six cows. These cows play a vital role in:
- Producing organic manure essential for eco-friendly agriculture
- Supporting the conservation of traditional cattle varieties native to the region
- Serving as a valuable learning resource for students, who gain firsthand experience in the importance of cattle in rural livelihoods and organic farming systems
The Gou Seva initiative embodies the Trust’s commitment to environmental stewardship and cultural heritage, teaching students the significance of harmonious coexistence with nature.
Through these outreach programs, Vivekananda Educational Trust is actively contributing to community upliftment, environmental sustainability, and cultural preservation, embodying the spirit of service inspired by Swami Vivekananda.
